The regulator is also looking at how the platform determines customers’ locations, its advertising in the U.S., and the U.S. version of Polymarket, which began rolling out late last year.
In 2022, Polymarket agreed to block access for U.S. users. In 2025, the CFTC and the Justice Department closed their investigations into the company without bringing charges.
Polymarket said it had updated its controls and banned the use of VPNs to bypass restrictions. The CFTC and the company declined to comment.
