U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that U.S. authorities plan to seize about $1 billion in crypto assets linked to Iran as early as this week. According to him, the location of these assets is known.
The Trump administration is shifting from a policy of maximum pressure to the complete isolation of Iran. The measures include a naval blockade, restrictions on air travel, and the closure of land routes, in cooperation with the UAE, Oman, Pakistan, and Turkey.
Bessent also stated that the U.S. expects to completely halt Iranian oil exports and restrict the country's leadership's access to foreign financial assets.
