StarkWare co-founder Eli Ben-Sasson stated at TOKEN2049 that Starknet is considering transitioning to L1.

According to him, the quantum threat may be much closer than people think, and AI is developing faster than humans can comprehend—so the only question is when it will break what was previously considered secure. Ben-Sasson referred to this as “bunker mode.”
