Blockstream refused to pay the ransom to the hackers of the Liquid Network.

Blockstream stated that it will not pay a ransom for the return of the remaining funds. “Taking assets without permission and refusing to return them is a crime, not responsible vulnerability disclosure. This is not white-hat hacking—it’s theft,” the statement said.

The hackers demanded a 10% reward from the company’s own funds and warned that otherwise Liquid asset holders would lose 15%. Blockstream called on the hackers to voluntarily return the BTC, and otherwise promised to work with law enforcement agencies, exchanges, service providers, and forensic experts to track down the funds and identify those responsible.
