South Korean Mirae Asset plans to build a digital asset business worth 150 trillion won ($109 billion) around the Digital X platform. The plan was announced by the group’s founder, Park Hyung-ju, with the goal of turning this business segment into a profitable venture by 2027.
Digital X is the renamed Korbit exchange, 97% of which Mirae acquired in July. The platform will focus on cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, real-world assets, and the tokenization of securities—including gold, silver, and electricity.
According to Park, the goal is to make Digital X a key pillar of the group, leveraging Mirae’s client assets totaling 1,500 trillion won, and ultimately building a global platform that integrates traditional and digital assets.
