Kostas Halkias, co-founder of Mysten Labs (the company behind the Sui blockchain), has leased a factory to produce low-cost quantum-resistant card wallets. The wallet card will cost less than $10, and signing via NFC will take 1-2 seconds.

The impetus was the hacking of Coldcard wallets: due to a firmware bug, hackers drained about 2,055 BTC (nearly $130 million) from more than 7,700 addresses over several weeks.

This project is part of Sui’s broader quantum strategy. The blockchain is adding two signature schemes resistant to quantum attacks—one for regular accounts and another for large-scale storage.
