The Senate will resume work around September 14, and the chamber will have only about three weeks of legislative session before the start of the election campaign in early October.

The situation is complicated by new disagreements: Senators Josh Hawley and Jerry Moran stated that they would not support the bill in its current form due to potential consequences for the banking industry. The bill still requires at least 60 votes.
