Wintermute has registered its U.S. office as a broker-dealer, obtaining oversight from FINRA and the SEC. This paves the way for the company to obtain official market-maker status on the NYSE and Nasdaq exchanges.
It will start with crypto-related markets—commodities and digital asset ETFs—and then plans to enter the tokenized equity space if regulatory conditions permit. Wintermute USA has already attracted ETF issuers as clients and expects to compete with Jump Trading, Jane Street, and Citadel Securities within 3-5 years.
