Zerion announced the closure of Zero Network—a gasless L2 built on ZK Stack, launched in November 2024. Resources will be redirected toward the development of Zerion’s wallet and API.
The team explained the decision simply: maintaining a separate blockchain turned out not to be the best way to realize their vision. “The idea was right, but the path wasn’t,” the developers wrote.
Users need to withdraw all assets (ETH, tokens, NFTs) by July 31, 2026. Deposits into the network have already been disabled. After July 31, the network will be completely shut down.
Zero Network joins the wave of closures: over the past two days, Syndicate Labs, Everclear, and Fantasy.top have also announced their shutdowns. All cited unfavorable market conditions as one of the reasons.
Zerion is a popular non-custodial crypto wallet and a platform for tracking DeFi portfolios.
