Blockchain.com Group Holdings Inc. has confidentially filed a draft registration statement, Form S-1, with the U.S. SEC for an IPO.
There is no public valuation yet for the IPO, but based on previous funding rounds, the picture looks like this: in 2022, the company was valued at approximately $14 billion in a round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from Baillie Gifford. In 2023, a Series E round worth $110 million (led by British firm Kingsway Capital) slashed the valuation by more than halfâdown to roughly $7 billion.
Blockchain.com is one of the oldest companies in the crypto industry, founded in 2011 by three members of the original Bitcoin developer forum, with its headquarters in Dallas. Itâs a crypto financial company offering a range of products centered around digital assets: a crypto exchange, wallets, institutional trading, and lending services.
