The U.S. will invest $2 billion in quantum companies.

The Trump administration is allocating $2 billion in grants among nine quantum companies and taking minority stakes in each of them.

  • IBM receives $1 billion;
  • GlobalFoundries receives $375 million;
  • D-Wave Quantum, Rigetti Computing, Infleqtion, Atom Computing, PsiQuantum, and Quantinuum each receive approximately $100 million;
  • The startup Diraq receives $38 million.

The recipients’ stocks rose by 7–25% in the premarket immediately after the announcement.

The main goal is to strengthen U.S. leadership in quantum technology development, stimulate innovation, and ensure national security.
