
Tether has filed applications for seven trademarks in South Korea—its company logo and the stablecoin Tether Gold (XAUT).
The industry views this as preparation for opening a local office. The second phase of South Korea's digital asset law may require foreign stablecoin issuers to establish representative offices in the country. Tether, it seems, is getting ahead of Circle.
