- Transaction participants: Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, and Goldman Sachs.
- Anthropic, Blackstone, and Hellman & Friedman will each invest $300 million. Goldman Sachs—approximately $150 million.
The primary goal of this venture is to establish a consulting division that will purposefully integrate Anthropic’s neural networks into the operational processes of companies owned by these private equity funds.
The venture will operate on a model similar to Palantir’s (software + consulting). Instead of the standard sale of API subscriptions, the new structure will help the management of portfolio companies restructure their workflows around AI, train staff, and directly integrate the technologies themselves.
Meanwhile, OpenAI is simultaneously negotiating to establish similar partnerships (valued at even larger sums) with other industry giants: TPG, Bain Capital, and Advent.
